Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse ‘v’ EMI

After EMI informed Danger Mouse that his new album ‘Dark Night of the Soul‘ would not be released due to ‘legal reasons‘, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
dangermouseHe has released the album with usual artwork and sleeve notes ‘but‘ the actual CD is a blank CD-R, now all you have to do is find it on a ‘bit torrent’, or other ‘p2p’ file sharing network and download.

The album, a collaborative work with fellow artists Sparklehorse, is available to listen to from here http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=104129585

There are additional contributions from Iggy Pop and The Flaming Lips, with artwork by David Lynch. Danger Mouse is quoted as saying ” I am very proud of the album , and hope people will get to listen to it by whatever means neccessary “.

Being more of a Sparklehorse fan myself, I have had a listen and will now be looking to download it.
