The art of blogging for new and budding bloggers, appears to be a vast jungle of misinformation. Just enter blogging into Google and look at what hits you!
I decided that I would like to venture into blogging, being a bit of a self opinionated old bugger blogger, and promptly encountered all sorts of ideas offering to make me a small fortune in next to no time…..’Cor!’ thinks I, ‘there’s money in ‘them there’ blogs!

Undaunted by all this overload of information, I have decided to keep track of how events unfold for me, hence this page.
Here is a breakdown of what I have created so far;

The very first thing I did was to create a Twitter account…. bobwcaincom (now go and follow me, go on, you know you want to!) My Twitter name comes from the address of my current website www.bobwcain.com, a bit of a mish mash of details about me, and some of the music I love to listen to. I chose Twitter, as it appears to be a great platform for self promotion. When the creative juices begin to flow, Twitter can be your sounding board, I will add that this is theory only at this stage, I intend to put it to the test with this article.

Next I researched blogging software, the program I decided to use was WordPress. It seems idiot-bob proof (so far). It’s pretty much self explanatory, with lots of plug ins and user friendly guides to get your blog off the ground. And there is an amazing collection of themes to choose from, not just the ones on the WordPress website, just go Google for them. On the subject of Google, how would we cope without it! enough said!

Right, this is the here and now. I am about to publish this item as ‘the story so far’ and see if I cannot coax a little help out of the Twitter community. I appreciate that a successful blog will have to rely on as much original and refreshing content as possible, and to this end I have one or two ideas in mind…I am quite good at waffling..Ha!..Ha!

All that remains for the moment is to ask you, the reader and hopefully a practicing blogger, to suggest and/or advise me on the next course of action. I would also like some guidance on advertising (Google adsense already here)
